The Forgotten War Victims: Donate to feed displaced families during Ramadan - a time of giving

This Ramadan it is our duty to help those in need and give back to those who have been affected by conflict. Therefore, we are providing hot iftar meals every day to those in need across northwest Syria, Arsal camps in Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine.  Your donation can make an immense difference this month; just $50 can buy enough food for an entire family throughout Ramadan.

As Muslims, we are all connected and share responsibility for one another - as the hadith states “Muslims are like one body of a person; if the eye is sore, the whole body aches, and if the head aches, the whole body aches”. Your generous contributions will not only provide these families with sustenance but also open doors of opportunities that weren’t available before – such as access to education, healthcare services and employment.

By providing a small donation, the Quran states “and whatever you spend He will replace it; and He is the best of the providers” (Ch 34:39). As part of our mission to provide dignified aid to those in need we urge you to donate now so that we can provide hot iftar to those who need it the most.

Fatima, a mother of three children, has been struggling to make ends meet since the war in her country began. She was living in one of the displacement camps, struggling to provide for her family. During Ramadan, she was barely able to provide a meal for her and her family once a day. Your generous donations, she and her children were able to enjoy hot iftar meals every day during Ramadan, so far.

Fatima said that it felt like a miracle when she heard about this initiative, as it provided much needed relief for her family. The hot iftar meals allowed them to break their fast with delicious and nutritious meals during the holy month of Ramadan, something that they would never have dreamt of before. With these meals also came hope – not only did they fill their stomachs but also renewed their faith in humanity.

According to Hadith: One who strives to help the widows, or the poor is like the one who strives in the cause of Allah (Bukhari). Similarly, it is said that kindness should be shown towards orphans and needy individuals while speaking nicely and helping out the poor (Quran 02:83).
